Salt River

Salt River Pony Club was founded in 2019 to serve the Gilbert, Queen Creek, Chandler, Mesa and Apache Junction communities. We are a small but dedicated club that values the importance of good horsemanship in all we do. Our members range in age from 8 to 19 and have a broad range of equestrian interests. Our club meets once, sometimes twice, per month for mounted and unmounted instruction provided by knowledgeable members of our community. The club is run by a group of passionate volunteers.

Salt River Pony Club is a club within the Southwest Region of The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. This region covers all of Arizona, New Mexico and some of Colorado. We meet with members from throughout the region several times a year for educational and competitive opportunities. The United States Pony Clubs, Inc. is our national organization and started in 1954 to teach riding and the proper care of horses. It is based on The British Pony Club, which was created in 1929 as a junior branch of the Institute of the Horse. Since then, Pony Club has expanded to many countries around the world, with the main goal being to promote sportsmanship, stewardship and leadership through horsemanship. Our members have the opportunity to compete at national championships and travel overseas.

We are keen to meet like minded individuals in our community and welcome new members both youth and adult.
